Next you’ll head to the Serengeti national park and ngorongoro crater  which has the densest population of wildlife anywhere in Africa. Here you can hope to see most of the animal species found in East Africa including lion, elephant, zebra, rhino, leopard, buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest, hippo and many different bird species.

Finally you’ll head to Gombe National park where you’ll be hiking in the forest and tracking the local population of chimpanzees. Prepare to feel humbled and very privileged to see these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat.

During this tour you’ll stay in beautiful accommodation in remote wilderness areas including the spectacular Lake Manyara Wildlife Camp, Seronera Wildlife Lodge in the heart of the Serengeti and Kigoma Hilltop Hotel with stunning views of Lake Tanganyika. At Gombe Lodge you’ll be sleeping under canvas in a spacious safari tent giving you the quintessential safari experience.

You’ll be coming home with some very special memories having seem a huge range of wildlife, both predators, herbivores and primates in the wild.

DAY 1 : Arrival in Arusha
You’ll be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport by your Daigle Tours guide and transferred to the hotel.
DAY 2 : Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast we’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park.  The national park coverage is 127 square miles (329 km²) and the lake’s alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles (231 km²). Giant fig trees and mahogany trees can be seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gates. They draw nourishment from the underground springs which are continuously replenished by the crater highlands directly above the Manyara basin.

While mostly known for its famous tree-climbing lions and baboons, Lake Manyara and its environment are also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes.

DAY 3 : Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast depart from Manyara and drive to the endless plains of the Serengeti via Ngorongoro Crater. Serengeti is the oldest and most popular national park in Tanzania in particular for its annual migration of wildebeest with zebra and Thomson gazelle joining the trek for fresh grazing. Other wildlife found in Serengeti includes buffalo, giraffe, eland, topi, kongoni, impala, Grant’s gazelle, lion, cheetah, leopard and African jackal.
DAY 4 : Serengeti Full Day
After breakfast continue with a full day of migration viewing in Serengeti National Park. We’ll take a packed lunch to maximise our game viewing time. Serengeti National Park is widely regarded as the best wildlife reserve in Africa due to its density of predators and prey as well as the great wildebeest migration so make sure your camera batteries are fully charged as there will be plenty of photo opportunities.
DAY 5 : Ngorongoro Crater - Masai Boma
After breakfast and with packed lunches at the ready, we’ll drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for game viewing. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the Ngorongoro Crater – a large, unbroken, unflooded volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago, is 610m (2,000 ft) deep and its floor covers 260 km² (100 miles²). Estimations of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet (4500 to 5800 meters). Animal populations in the crater include most of the species found in East Africa such as lion, elephant, zebra, rhino, leopard, buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest, hippo and many different bird species so expect to see wildlife galore. After an exciting day with all that wildlife you’ll be driven to Arusha in the evening.
DAY 6 : Fly from Arusha to Kigoma
After breakfast you’ll be taken from the hotel to Arusha Airport for a shared charter flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to Kigoma Hilltop Hotel. This is a great opportunity to relax, lounge by the pool and enjoy the stunning views of sparkling Lake Tanganyika.
DAY 7 : Gombe National Park
After breakfast you will be transferred by a traditional dhow boat on the two hours trip to Gombe National Park where you’ll go chimpanzee tracking in the forest. The chimps’ habitation areas are usually easily accessible and the walk is not too strenuous, although the fitter you are the more you’ll enjoy your jungle walk. Observing these endangered primates is a once-in-a-lifetime experience so we’ll spend as much time with the chimpanzees as possible.
DAY 8 : Gombe National Park
After breakfast you’ll have a full day of chimpanzee tracking in the forest giving you another opportunity to observe these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat.
DAY 9 : Departure
After breakfast you’ll leave and return to Kigoma by boat then transferred to Kigoma airport for your shared charter flight to Dar es Salaam. A Tear Mark Tanzania Safari will be at the airport to meet you and help you connect to your international flight.
